Introducing the 2026 Corvette ZR1X: America’s Electrified Hypercar Evolution
Chevrolet is raising the bar once again with the unveiling of the 2026 Corvette ZR1X, a groundbreaking addition to the Corvette legacy and a true American hypercar. Combining extreme horsepower, cutting-edge hybrid technology, and all-wheel drive traction, the ZR1X stands as the most powerful and advanced Corvette ever created.
Extreme Performance Meets Electric Innovation
At the heart of the ZR1X lies Chevrolet’s all-new LT7 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8, an engineering marvel producing a staggering 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. This ferocious rear-wheel output is enhanced by a compact electric motor driving the front axle, delivering an additional 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque for a combined system output of 1,250 horsepower.
Thanks to this dual-power setup, the ZR1X achieves a GM-estimated 0–60 mph time under 2 seconds and can complete a quarter mile in less than 9 seconds, crossing the trap at over 150 mph—all without requiring a plug-in charge.
Born from a Race-Bred Architecture
The ZR1X is built on Corvette’s mid-engine platform, originally engineered with high-performance variants in mind. Utilizing advanced materials and structural rigidity, it accommodates both a powerful combustion engine and a high-voltage battery pack. The battery system, though modest in size at 1.9 kWh, has been optimized for rapid discharge and recharge cycles, increasing front-axle power output and on-track endurance.
The front electric motor, based on the one first introduced in the 2024 Corvette E-Ray, has been enhanced with fortified components to manage the demands of higher performance. It delivers full torque at launch and remains engaged up to 160 mph, playing a crucial role in the ZR1X’s all-wheel drive traction and overall balance.

Precision-Engineered Powertrain
The LT7 engine itself is a technical tour de force, sharing design DNA with the Z06’s naturally aspirated flat-plane V8 but taking performance several steps further. Key features include:
Dual 76mm turbochargers
A unique “maniturbo” exhaust layout that integrates the manifold and turbo housing, cutting lag and sharpening throttle response
Dynamic anti-lag controls that keep the turbochargers spinning even off-throttle, delivering immediate boost when needed
Combined with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, this setup ensures blistering acceleration and seamless power delivery.

Dual Personality: Track Monster and Comfortable Tourer
While built for ultimate performance, the ZR1X doesn’t compromise on comfort. It retains Corvette’s tradition of daily usability, offering both coupe and hardtop convertible configurations. The cabin is outfitted with Corvette’s newly updated interior, featuring:
A three-screen digital display layout

Real-time telemetry and performance metrics
Premium materials and color options
American Built, Globally Competitive
Every ZR1X will roll off the line at GM’s Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky. The LT7 engine is hand-built by expert technicians at the Bowling Green Performance Build Center, ensuring top-tier quality and craftsmanship.

The Future of American Performance
The 2026 Corvette ZR1X redefines what it means to be an American performance car. By blending immense internal combustion power with electric AWD innovation, Chevrolet has created a hypercar that can compete on a global stage — and still wear the Corvette badge with pride.
Pricing and official availability will be announced closer to the ZR1X’s production launch.
