Spectacular Pole for Max, Norris Makes a Costly Mistake!
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has claimed pole position ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the fifth round of this year’s Formula 1 championship. The Dutchman secured his second pole of the season on the streets of Jeddah with a lap time of 1:27.294, edging out McLaren’s Oscar Piastri by just one hundredth of a second.
Mercedes driver George Russell was the closest behind the top two, finishing a tenth of a second behind the Australian.
Qualifying was also marked by Lando Norris’ biggest mistake of the season. The McLaren driver clipped the curb and hit the barrier, bringing out the red flag and prematurely ending his Q3 run. Leading the standings before the session, Norris will now start 10th in the fifth race of the season.

Analysis: Verstappen Delivers Under Pressure, Norris Left to Regret Costly Error
High drama unfolded in Jeddah’s tight and fast street circuit as Max Verstappen once again proved why he’s a three-time world champion. He squeezed out every bit of performance from his Red Bull to take pole in style.
Oscar Piastri impressed with a razor-thin gap to Verstappen, while George Russell continues to edge closer to the front, a promising sign for Mercedes fans.
The biggest story, however, might be Lando Norris’ uncharacteristic mistake. Until then, he had looked competitive, but clipping the curb and hitting the wall cost him dearly. Starting from 10th on a track like Jeddah, known for its speed and technical complexity, puts him on the back foot. Still, knowing Norris, we can expect a fightback.
Can anyone challenge Max in the race tomorrow? We’ll find out soon.
