Scuderia Ferrari heads to the vibrant city of Miami this weekend for Round 6 of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship. The Miami Grand Prix, held at the Miami International Autodrome, marks the second Sprint weekend of the season and the first of three races in the United States this year.
The weekend format features a condensed schedule, with a single Free Practice session on Friday at 12:30 local time (18:30 CEST), followed by Sprint Qualifying later that afternoon at 16:30 (22:30 CEST). The 100-kilometre Sprint race takes place Saturday at noon (18:00 CEST), while the traditional Grand Prix qualifying session follows at 16:00 (22:00 CEST). Sunday’s main race, covering 57 laps and 308.326 kilometres, will begin at 16:00 local (22:00 CEST).
A Year with HP: Celebrating a Milestone in Style
This Miami event holds special significance for Ferrari, as it commemorates one year of its title partnership with HP. To celebrate the anniversary, both SF-25 cars will feature a striking one-off livery revealed in Miami alongside Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, and Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur. The launch included a display of fan messages collected through HP’s “Messages of Forza” campaign, underscoring the passionate community that surrounds the Scuderia.

The Miami International Autodrome: A Demanding Hybrid Circuit
Set around the iconic Hard Rock Stadium, the 5.412 km street circuit features 19 corners, blending fast straights with technical low-speed sections. Overtaking is expected to be a factor, especially through the two DRS zones—between Turns 8 and 11 and again from Turns 16 to 17. The circuit layout demands a balanced setup, combining minimal drag for the straights with solid traction and downforce for the tighter corners.
Tyres and Strategy: A Softer Approach
Pirelli is supplying the C3 (Hard), C4 (Medium), and C5 (Soft) compounds—one step softer than in 2024. The relatively smooth tarmac puts moderate stress on the tyres, but Miami’s sweltering heat—where track temperatures soared to 55°C last year—makes thermal degradation a key factor. Grip levels will evolve quickly as the surface rubbers in over the course of the weekend.
Frédéric Vasseur: “Prepared and Focused”
After a rigorous analysis phase back at Maranello following the season’s first triple-header, Ferrari is approaching Miami with confidence. “This is a unique event for many reasons,” said Vasseur. “We’re celebrating a year of successful collaboration with HP, and it’s our second Sprint weekend of 2025. With limited practice time, our simulator work and preparation have been crucial. Our goal is to keep developing the SF-25’s potential, building on the encouraging signs from Bahrain and Jeddah.”
