Ford Puma Gen-E: The Best-Selling Crossover Goes Electric

Ford is taking a major step into the future with the new Puma Gen-E, the fully electric version of its most popular car in Europe. While staying true to the original Puma’s sporty and practical roots, the Gen-E now delivers an emission-free driving experience with modern electric performance and next-level technology.

Up to 376 km Range – And Quick Charging Too

The electric Puma offers up to 376 kilometers of driving range on a single charge, and even more — over 523 km — if you’re mostly driving in the city. Charging won’t keep you waiting long either. A quick top-up from 10% to 80% takes about 23 minutes using a 100 kW DC fast charger.

Electric, But Still Fun to Drive

Ford promises the Gen-E keeps the fun-to-drive character that made the original so popular. Acceleration is smooth and quick — 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds — and the steering feels sharp and responsive. It’s the electric version of the Puma ST in all the best ways.

More Space, Smarter Storage

One of Puma’s cleverest features, the MegaBox, has been upgraded to the new GigaBox. This gives you up to 574 liters of storage space, which is more than many larger SUVs. There’s even a 43-liter frunk (front trunk) where the engine used to be — perfect for small items, charging cables, or even ice and drinks on road trips.

Fresh Design, Familiar Style

The Gen-E keeps the sleek, sporty lines of the Puma but adds modern, electric styling. A closed “shield” front replaces the old grille, inspired by the Mustang Mach-E. New alloy wheels and a subtle rear spoiler give it a distinctive, aerodynamic edge.

Inside: A Digital, Connected Cabin

The interior features a clean, modern layout with two high-resolution digital screens and Ford’s latest SYNC 4 system. Navigation is cloud-connected, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto work wirelessly. You also get Alexa Built-in for voice commands, plus wireless phone charging and flexible storage in the new center console.

  • Smart Features for City and Highway
  • Driving is easier and more comfortable thanks to:
  • Adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go
  • Lane centering
  • One-pedal driving
  • 360-degree cameras
  • Dynamic Matrix LED headlights that adapt to the road
  • An electronic gear selector behind the steering wheel makes shifting feel simple and modern.

Made in Europe, Designed for Today’s Drivers

The Puma Gen-E is built in Romania using electric powertrains from Ford’s UK facility. It’s part of Ford’s growing electric lineup in Europe, which already includes models like the Mustang Mach-E, Explorer EV, and E-Transit.

To help customers switch to electric, Ford offers home charger installation support, flexible charging options, and an 8-year / 160,000 km battery warranty.

The Ford Puma Gen-E is more than just an electric crossover — it’s a confident, well-rounded step forward. If you’re looking for a compact EV that’s practical, fun, and full of smart features, the Gen-E might just be the electric car to watch in 2025.
