Francesco Bagnaia Tests Lamborghini Temerario

MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia recently had the exclusive opportunity to test drive Lamborghini’s latest engineering marvel — the Temerario High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV), a twin-turbocharged V8 hybrid beast that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in supercar performance.

Straight from the racing circuits into the heart of Lamborghini’s future, Bagnaia — a two-time MotoGP World Champion and one of the most decorated names in modern motorcycle racing — took the Temerario to the track, where he was quick to praise its blistering speed and surprisingly refined handling.

“Reaching 10,000 rpm is incredible. The sensation reminded me more of a naturally aspirated engine than a turbocharged one. It just keeps pulling,” said Bagnaia. “And yet, it’s so easy to drive. It’s the best of both worlds — power and control.”

The Temerario delivers a staggering 920 horsepower, thanks to the synergy between its V8 twin-turbo combustion engine and three electric motors. This configuration enables hypercar-level acceleration: 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 343 km/h. Lamborghini’s engineers have fine-tuned both power delivery and responsiveness to ensure maximum thrill, whether on the road or the racetrack.

Notably, Bagnaia’s test drive was more than a promotional opportunity. It was a symbolic meeting between two powerhouses of Italian performance — Ducati and Lamborghini — both sharing roots in precision engineering and a passion for speed. Bagnaia, whose iconic racing number 63 matches the year Lamborghini was founded (1963), is a longtime enthusiast of the brand’s bold design and technological innovation.

The Temerario represents Lamborghini’s evolving vision: high-performance hybrid technology that doesn’t compromise on excitement or aesthetics. Still in the pre-production stage, the model is not yet available for sale and remains under type approval for fuel consumption and emissions standards.

Bagnaia’s verdict makes it clear — Lamborghini’s Temerario isn’t just a step forward in electrification; it’s a full-speed leap into the future of performance driving. With its race-inspired dynamics and groundbreaking hybrid system, the Temerario blurs the line between track bike adrenaline and supercar sophistication.
