Kia has released official images showing the production version of its EV4 electric car, ahead of its launch later this year.
The production model is largely unchanged from the concept shown in 2023, with the EV4 filling the gap between the EV3 hatchback and the EV5 SUV that will soon be launched in Europe.
It will be sold primarily as a five-door hatchback in Europe, where it will be a natural rival to the Volkswagen ID.3.
The four-door fastback is designed mainly for other global markets, and it seems to retain the same wheelbase, with a different rear end with a larger boot.
The EV4 is said to represent the purity of the ‘Power to Progress’ pillar of Kia’s ‘Opposites Untied’ design philosophy.
‘Power to Progress’ focuses on the skills, expertise and creativity developed during Kia’s era of design-led transformation. This approach encourages the creation of innovative products that go beyond setting new standards for individual vehicle design to redefine entire sectors. Such is the case with the Kia EV4.

Inspired by ‘Power to Progress’ and expressed through a harmonious fusion of confident, geometric diagonal character lines and rich yet technical surfaces, the EV4 represents a new value, approach, user experience and typology. Aspects such as the evocative, elegant low nose, elongated, dynamic tail silhouette (on the fastback) and roof spoiler, all attributes reminiscent of sports cars and automobiles, confirm the EV4’s status as an entirely new type of EV.
An aggressive facial expression complements the EV4’s progressive, technological silhouette. With a wide, imposing stance, with headlights positioned vertically on the outermost edges of the hood and front bumper, the model further symbolizes the brand’s determination to push the boundaries and accelerate the EV revolution.
The EV4 hatchback has a contemporary, robust appearance, defined by contrasting black vertical C-pillars and clearly executed lines. Robust bumpers and 19-inch wheels add visual strength and a sense of dynamic energy, while geometric patterns applied to the lower body of the car emphasize its innovative nature.
The rear profile of the EV4 hatchback reflects strong proportions and character. Sharp sculpted lines, wide-set taillights and a sloping rear window create a clean, robust look.
The Kia EV4 GT-Line features exclusive design elements in addition to the innovative base model, creating a more dynamic character. Wing-shaped front and rear bumpers give a stronger, sleeker impression, while 19-inch wheels with a triangular motif enhance the vehicle’s futuristic, sporty feel.

It is known for now that it will share its E-GMP platform with other Kia electric vehicles, so the EV4 will be offered with a choice of 58 kWh or 81 kWh battery packs, as well as front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
It should offer a maximum range of more than 560 km, but will likely stick to 400 V charging for up to 128 kW, like the EV3 and EV5.
A sporty GT version is also expected, with all-wheel drive and more power than the standard model.
The interior has not yet been revealed, but the 2023 concept gives a good idea of what to expect, with a sleek yet minimalist dashboard.
The EV4 will be fully unveiled on February 27 at Kia’s EV Day event, where the EV2 concept and the PV5 electric van will also be unveiled.
