Carlos Sainz, the former Ferrari and now Williams driver, said that Lewis Hamilton will have an excellent chance of winning the Formula 1 championship with the Italian team. After 11 years at Mercedes, the Briton moved to Ferrari, where he will drive alongside Charles Leclerc this season. Hamilton replaced Sainz as the driver.
“When I left Ferrari, Charles was already at the level needed to win the title. Now that Lewis is here, Ferrari’s chances are even greater. When I look at what Lewis has done in recent years, I have to conclude that he will have a great chance of winning another trophy. However, a lot will influence the final outcome, above all the way he will fit into the new team,” said Sainz.
Hamilton is currently tied with Michael Schumacher on the number of titles won. Both have seven, and another triumphant season would leave the British driver alone at the top.
